Summary
Wizards of Waverly Place takes place in Manhattan, New York, and follows the daily lives of the Russo family. To everyone else, the Russo’s are just a regular family who lives above their family’s sandwich shop, Waverly Sub Station but in reality, their lives are far from normal. The truth is, the Russo’s are a family of wizards! The children of the family (ordered oldest to youngest); Justin, Alex, and Max are all wizards in training, living with their human mother, Thresa, and their father/mentor, former wizard, Jerry. Jerry is training his kids for the family wizard competition, where only one of the three siblings gets to keep their powers. With three teenage wizards around, there’s obviously going to be all sorts of crazy adventures and events. But what’s on everybody’s mind is, who will end up being the Russo family wizard?

Alex Russo
Alex is the middle child of the Russo family, she’s not afraid to voice her opinion and often gives sarcastic remarks. Alex hates following rules and her careless use of magic often gets her into trouble.
Jerry Russo
Jerry is the Father of the Russo family, and he was once a former wizard. He currently teaches the kids how to use magic and master their skills.
Justin Russo
Justin is the oldest of the Russo siblings. He’s extremely intelligent and often looks at things from a logical perspective. He’s the overachiever of the Russo siblings and always gets praised from both the wizards and the human world. With a rule-breaker sister, he's typically found getting Alex out of trouble.
Max Russo
Max is the youngest of the Russo siblings. He often slacks off from his wizard homework and responsibilities. He constantly compares himself to his older siblings and doesn’t seem to be interested in becoming the family wizard
Thersa Russo
Theresa is the Mom of the Russo family and the only human. She often has to stop her kids from using magic outside of the wizard liar
